How to Indicate the Origin of Animal-Based Products?

In Switzerland, it is mandatory to specify the origin of meat and fish. This information must be provided in writing for whole meat, fillets, or pieces, whether fresh or processed, as well as for fish.

Declaration Rules:

Meat → Indicate the country of origin.
Farmed fish → Indicate the country where it was farmed.
Wild-caught fish → Indicate the country responsible for the fishing area.
⚠ Shellfish and mollusks are not subject to this requirement.

Exceptions: For meat-based products (e.g., ham on a pizza), the origin does not need to be indicated, as it is not whole or piece meat.

How to Indicate the Origin on Smood?

1. Go to the "Menu" section in your Smood Manager.
2. Click the "Edit Meat Origin" button.


3. A window will open: enter the origin of your meat and fish.



4. Confirm, and the information will be displayed to customers when they check the "More Information" section of your establishment.
